Pechner > This is the wreckage of a Navy TBM torpedo bomber of WW II vintage, at the Hagaru-ri airstrip. It was borrowed by Marine Observation Squadron 6 ( VMO-6), and their pilots used it to resupply and evacuate wounded from the emergency air strips at Hagaru-ri and Koto-ri near the Chosin Reservoir N. Korea, before the strips were made long enough to accomodate the larger R4D and C-47 transport aircraft. I don't know the details of its demise.
